What to Wear to OU Sorority Recruitment 2026: A Round-by-Round Style Guide

I rushed. I held an executive position. I've been on both sides of recruitment, as a PNM walking into houses not knowing a single person, and as a member on the other side of the door. I know how long these days are, how you'll meet some of the best friends of your life during this week, and how much you'll wish someone had handed you an easy-to-follow guide with what to wear, tips, tricks, links, and more before it all started.

Consider this that guide.

I'm Alexandria, the founder of House of Me, a women's boutique opening our first storefront in Norman on July 25th. I put this guide together because I wish someone had handed it to me. Round by round, day by day, here's exactly what I would wear now, if I was doing recruitment all over again.

The Quick Overview

Round Dates Attire
Round 1: Open House Aug 9-10 OU Panhellenic t-shirt
Round 2: Philanthropy Aug 11-12 OU Panhellenic t-shirt
Round 3: Sisterhood Aug 13-14 Your own outfit , sundress/brunch vibe
Round 4: Preference Aug 15 Your own outfit , cocktail/formal
Bid Day Aug 16 Cute, comfy, and ready for anything

Rounds 1 and 2: The T-Shirt Days (Aug 9-12)

Here's what a lot of people don't know going in: you won't be choosing your own top for the first four days of recruitment. When you check in, you'll receive four OU Panhellenic Formal Recruitment t-shirts. One crimson, one white, one pink, and one navy. You'll wear a different color each day.

Which means the real question isn't "what top do I wear?" It's "what do I wear WITH the shirt?"

This is actually your secret weapon. While everyone else is wearing the exact same four shirts, your bottom, your shoes, and your jewelry are the only things that are truly yours. Make them count.

Here's how I'd style each shirt color:

Day 1 (Aug 9)- Crimson Shirt

Crimson is bold, so you want a bottom that can hold its own without competing.

The move: White bottoms. Our Blair Paper Bag Shorts ($48) in white are high-waisted with a self-tie sash. They make any top look intentional. Or go for a white mini skirt if that's more your style.

Shoes: White sneakers or simple white sandals. You're visiting up to 16 chapters over two days. Comfort is non-negotiable.

Your bracelet stack: Ruby Red Bowie Bracelet ($24) + Star Opal Stretch Bracelet Set ($24) + our pearl stretch bracelet. Bold, crimson-adjacent, and perfectly stacked. Want to add a necklace? The Green Beaded Butterfly Necklace ($48) gives you an unexpected pop of color that looks incredible against crimson.

Pro tip: Skip the knot. A front tuck or a full tuck all the way around is so much more flattering, looks more polished in photos, and keeps you cooler in the August heat. Trust me on this one.

Day 2 (Aug 10)- White Shirt

White on white is a whole look if you do it right, but you can also go in a completely different direction.

The move: A denim mini skirt is the classic pairing and works beautifully here. Our Parker Denim Skort ($59) has a wrap front and built-in shorts. Cute, practical, and you'll thank yourself during round 14 of walking. Or go bold with a red or bright-colored skirt to make the white shirt pop.

Shoes: White sneakers again, a flat sandal, or our personal favorite , a fun pair of Golden Gooses. Recruitment week is the perfect excuse.

Your jewelry options: White is a blank canvas, have fun with it. Go for a statement necklace like the Pink Multicolor Beaded Fish Pendant Necklace ($48), the Pink Marble Statement Necklace ($28), the Large Dragonfly Pendant Necklace ($48), or the White/Clear Marble Statement Necklace ($28) for a clean tonal look.

Or skip the necklace and build a soft, dreamy bracelet stack instead: Multi Color Poppy Bracelets ($24) + Blue Opal Brynn Bracelets ($24) + a pearl stretch bracelet. Pastel and pretty against a white tee.

Day 3 (Aug 11)- Pink Shirt

Pink is the most fun shirt day. Lean into it.

The move: A floral or printed mini skirt looks incredible with the pink shirt. Or keep it clean with white bottoms again. You really can't go wrong.

Shoes: Still walking a lot (up to 8 chapters over 2 days), so keep it comfortable. A cute flat sandal is your friend.

Your bracelet stack: Baby Pink Poppy Bracelets ($24) + Light Pink Multi Bowie Bracelet ($24) + a pearl stretch bracelet. All pink, all cohesive, effortlessly put together.

Bonus: We'll have OU recruitment bracelet packs by Taylor Shaye Designs in store starting July 25th for our grand opening. Curated stacks, ready to go. Come grab yours early.

Day 4 (Aug 12)- Navy Shirt

Navy is the most versatile shirt of the four. It goes with almost everything.

The move: White bottoms look crisp and polished. A light wash denim skirt reads as preppy-cute. Even a soft floral skirt works beautifully with navy.

Shoes: You know the drill at this point. Comfortable, broken in, nothing new.

Your bracelet stack: Pearl stretch bracelet + Blue Opal Brynn Bracelets ($24) + Star Opal Stretch Bracelet Set ($24). Soft, opalescent, and beautiful against navy. For a necklace, try the White/Clear Marble Statement Necklace ($28) for something clean and elevated, or go bold with the Statement Rainbow Beaded Necklace ($28) for a color-forward finish.

T-Shirt Day General Tips

Wear cotton, breathable bottoms. August in Norman is not forgiving. Everything we carry is cotton, and there's a reason for that.

Want to wear a new pair of shoes? That's okay, just start breaking them in now. Don't be like freshman me. It is hot in Oklahoma, and as if breaking in new shoes isn't already the worst, adding the August heat and humidity to the mix is a level of suffering that is fully avoidable. Start wearing them around the house today.

Bring a small fan and water. The Oklahoma heat is real and recruitment days are long. A handheld fan is your best friend.

Restack your bracelets every morning. The Taylor Shaye pieces mix and match beautifully. You don't need a new stack every day, just rearrange what you have. That's the whole genius of them.

Round 3: Sisterhood Round (Aug 13-14)

The vibe: Brunch with your favorite girls. Relaxed, personal, and reflective of who you actually are. This round includes house tours, which means stairs, so think carefully about your footwear before you commit to a heel. Flat sandals or low wedges only for this one.

This is the round where you can finally dress like yourself, and chapters are paying attention to exactly that. Wear something you love.

Our picks:

The Poppy Floral Mini Dress ($64) is vibrant pink, orange, and yellow florals with puff sleeves. Bright, fun, and a natural conversation starter from the moment you walk in.

The Poplin Maxi Dress ($72) is structured, feminine, and effortlessly polished. The kind of dress that looks like you tried without trying at all.

The Lavender Fields Dress ($65) has a relaxed silhouette, a soft lavender floral print, and zero chance of overheating. Very sisterhood energy.

The Mixed Print Ruffled Mini Dress ($69.99) brings a ruffled neckline, bubble sleeves, and a pink blush multi print. Lacy, feminine, and editorial without being overdressed.

The Rosie Scarf Neck Mini Dress ($60.99) is bubblegum pink with a bow-tie scarf collar. Sweet, charming, and the dress you'll get asked about six times that day.

Shoes: Flat sandals or low wedges. Espadrilles are a great call , walkable and elevated. Save the heels for tomorrow.

Jewelry: This is the round to go for it. Layer a Hart Designs statement necklace like the Purple Beaded Butterfly Necklace ($48) or the Pink Multicolor Fish Pendant Necklace ($48) with a stack of Taylor Shaye bracelets. The Multi Color Poppy Bracelets ($24) and Pink Lemonade Glass Stone Bracelet ($24) together are chef's kiss with a floral dress.

Round 4 (Aug 15): Preference Round

The vibe: Evening summer wedding, but make it you. Preference is the most formal round of recruitment and the last one before Bid Day. An invitation to Pref means a chapter is seriously considering you, and the energy in the room reflects that. Parties are longer, more meaningful, and more emotional.

Important note: you do not need a floor-length ball gown. This is not prom. Think cocktail dress, a polished midi, or an elevated mini. Something that makes you feel like your most confident, put-together self. There is less walking during this round and parties are 60 minutes each, so heels are finally a real option.

Our picks:

The Sutton Mini Dress ($62) in hot pink and white colorblock is bold and polished at the same time. It's the dress that reads "I know exactly who I am."

The Audrey Puff Sleeve Shift Dress ($57.99) is a little black dress completely reimagined. Dramatic puff sleeves, self-tie bow cuffs, scallop hem. Elevated without being stiff.

The Adelaide Floral Midi Dress ($64.99) is a soft rose floral cotton midi with a square neck and puff sleeves. Romantic, polished, and the midi length gives it that effortlessly formal feel without trying too hard.

Shoes: This is your heels moment. You're visiting a maximum of 2 chapters and there's far less walking. Wear the shoes.

Jewelry: Go for statement earrings and keep the bracelets more dainty and refined. Think one or two Taylor Shaye pieces like the Star Opal Stretch Bracelet Set ($24) or Pink Lemonade Glass Stone Bracelet ($24) rather than a full stack. Let the earrings do the talking.

Bid Day: August 16

The vibe: Pure chaos. Pure joy. You got a bid.

Here's something worth knowing before you plan your Bid Day outfit: you're going to receive a shirt from your new chapter, so your top is already handled. What you actually need to think about is your bottom half.

Here's why: a lot of sororities have activities planned for new members immediately after Bid Day runs. You won't know ahead of time what those activities look like, so being cute AND comfortable is the whole assignment. A great skirt or shorts situation paired with your new chapter tee is the move. You'll look adorable in every photo and be ready for whatever comes next.

Our picks for Bid Day bottoms:

The Blair Paper Bag Shorts ($48) in white are elevated enough to feel like an outfit and comfortable enough to run around in. They also photograph beautifully with a tucked or knotted tee.

The Parker Denim Skort ($59) has built-in shorts so you never have to think about it. Cute, practical, and goes with everything.

If you want a full dress and plan to change into it after, the Sutton Mini Dress ($62) in hot pink and white colorblock is Bid Day in dress form. Bold, retro, impossible to miss in a crowd. The Rosie Scarf Neck Mini Dress ($60.99) in bubblegum pink is sweet, joyful, and looks incredible in group photos.

A Few More Things Worth Knowing

The shirt tip nobody tells you: Front tuck or full tuck your Panhellenic tee every single day. It's more flattering, keeps you cooler, and photographs way better in group shots than wearing it loose. Do it every shirt day without exception.

Photos happen constantly. Solid colors and smaller prints photograph cleaner than large busy prints in group shots. When you're torn between two dresses you love equally, go with the one that pops in a crowd.

Your jewelry is doing more work than you think. It's one of the only things that's truly yours during the shirt days. Our Hart Designs necklaces are handmade in limited batches. Nobody else in that room will have yours.
